Wriggle and Rhyme Time

Are you looking for a fun way to introduce music to your children? Are your children aged between 6 months to 3 years of age? Do you reside in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town? If you answered yes to these questions, look no further, Wriggle and Rhyme is here to assist.

Wriggle and Rhyme music programme based in Cape Town southern Suburbs

Wriggle and Rhyme was started in October 2008 by Kirsty Savides. Alongside her corporate marketing training and experience, Kirsty is a trained orchestral percussionist and piano and music theory teacher. Spotting a gap in the market, Wriggle and Rhyme was “born” as a natural synergy of Kirsty’s marketing and musical training.

Written and produced locally, The Wriggle and Rhyme Music and Movement programme is a unique and proudly South African programme. It was developed to assist in introducing children aged from 6 months to 3 years of age to the exciting thrills of music and movement. Passionate about quality from the start, with so much love and energy going into creating a completely unique, fun-filled and memorable music programme for babies and toddlers.

The programme offers a relaxed, fun environment for moms (or carers) and their children to enjoy together. The classes are an hour long with the first 30 minutes provided in a structured musical class and the second half encouraging social development between the youngsters, with refreshments provided for the grown-ups. Not only loved by the children that take part, the programme sets its attendees for a lifelong love and appreciation for music. It is also a memorable experience for parents (and/or the carers) who can join in with their children at this very special and impressionable stage of their lives.

The programme uses different educational themes each term to engage children with music in their everyday life, using a simple storyline and characters that the children fall in love with. In addition to the home-based music classes,  a range of Wriggle and Rhyme CDs are also available as well as a growing pre-schools programme, which runs in schools and caters for children from 2 years old all the way up to Grade R.

Currently the company offers branches in Claremont, Constantiaberg and Fish Hoek with a branch opening in Kenilworth in April 2014. The classes are usually offered in the mornings with times differing from branch to branch. Visit their website here to find out more.
